How can I wipe a flash drive clean?

I got my dad's old flash drive and it has some sort of encryption/security system on it--I have to put a password in to open and access files and it's really inconvenient, plus it doesn't work on macs--is there a way I can remove it? Would I have to wipe the flash drive clean or format it or something? How would I do that?

Go to "My Computer", right click it, click format, choose your options, and it will format the entire drive leaving it completely empty!
