I just bought a Sony Bravia 40inch television Model : KDL40EX400, and It has a usb port, and i wanted to watch a movie and i put in my usb and opened went into it but i couldnt play them. I really want to watch movies on my tv through the usb port, i have hdmi but thats too many wires, and i cant move my computer. Please help me out, i really want to watch movies through the usb!

I have music, photos, and movies on my portable usb drive, and when ever i open a file it says nothing can be displayed or something like that. do i have to do some specific formating or what? its very annoying lol please help me out!
