How can I video chat with someone on a PC while I use a Mac?

I recently got a Mac and I use iChat. I try to video chat with someone over iChat and they own a PC. However, every time I try to video chat with them it says there's a communication error. Is there anyway to fix this? I've video chatted with people on PCs before also
