how can i use my blackberry curve for Us Cellular prepaid?

I have Us Cellular prepaid and i just bought a blackberry curve but when i went to have my phone switched i was told i couldn't because it wasnt offered to prepaid and the only phones i could use were really crappy phones that they had on there site does anyone have some tip or hack that can allow me to use my new phone or am i just wasting my time and money with this phone
