How can I unlock my Dodge Ram without Fob?

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram SLT. I locked my truck last night with the remote Fob, and now the fob is broken (dog...). From what I understand, when you use the car key to open the driver's door, the alarm is going to go off. How can I stop the alarm from annoying the whole neighborhood quickly? Is there a trick with the key where you have to put it in the ignition and turn it a certain number of times?
The key is a normal metal key, no microchip.
I'm grateful for any advice, thanks.
I hope it doesn't go off too, but I'd rather be prepared than have to explain myself to the cops...
The fob is gone though, I mean, g.o.n.e. My dog, who I still love, chewed it APART. I've just heard somewhere before, that cars have a tendency to go nuts like that.

I would be very surprised if using the key to unlock the door would set off the alarm. You could take the fob apart and see what size battery you need, and replace it before trying to open the truck. Also, if the alarm is going to go off, I would think once you start the truck it will stop. Good luck, that is very disturbing to me to think that using the key for the truck to unlock it would cause an alarm, I hope you are wrong about that.
