I need to transfer some files directly from a Mac-configured iPod-Nano to a PC iTunes program. I cannot rely on the Mac, it is essentially dead. The PC wants to "restore" the iPod, which it claims will erase all the data on the iPod. Any way to bypass this?

A few years ago, I bought some CD's that have since been lost in a move. The CD's were very expensive, and I would really not spend that much money on something I already have. Anyway, I had all their files stored on my iPod, which was configured to work with a Mac. The Mac is basically dead now, so the only surviving copy of these files is on the iPod. I tried to synchronize the iPod with the Windows iTunes, but it said it wanted to restore the iPod, which would erase everything. How can I get these files onto the PC?
