How can i talk about accuracy improving techniques like parallax and averaging?

Aim: to find the relationship between the distance, Si, and the focal length of a convex lens ans to use the relationship to find the distance, So.

Equipment: a selection of convex lenses. Crosshair (object), screen (to locate image), metre ruler, LED torch, Boss, clamp and clampstand.

Method: For each of the lenses: place the lamp so the focal So is about 0.20m Move the screen to find the position of the image of the cross hair. Measure Si. Note: when positioning the ruler to take a measurement of Si or So it is not possible to take a reading at F. Techniques must be used to make sure the measurements taken allow for the fact that Si and So are distances from the focal point.

Theory: Theory states that Si So = f²
Note: Si and So are distances from the focal points, F, of the lens (NOT the lens itself)

Discussion (part i need help with): for each accuracy improving techniques you used, explain why it was necessary and how accuracy was improved. Your explanations must be particular to the measurements they relate to, not just a general statement.

so what do i write for the discussion? Apparently im supposed to talk about Parallax and Averaging.
HELP!!!!
