Well, I had lots of fish as a child but I just recently got a new fish, just a simple goldfish, after being pet-less for years. I bought a tank, filter, gravel, food, fake plant, the works. Bottom line is, the fish died within an hour. Is this my fault? The only two things I can think of that I did wrong were: the water I put in the tank was room temperature, but very quickly got colder and colder (I have a coldish room with no heat). The second is that my filter was basically blowing air bubbles into the water like it was supposed to, but every time the fish swam by, the fish would get blown away and would be blown around the tank or get pushed against the glass or into the plant or something. I heard once that if you buy a fish and it dies within 24 hours it's not your fault. Any one have any advice?
