How can i superimpose an image over a backdrop?

Help! Here is a link to the photo...

I want just the girl (me) over a different backdrop...it will probably be another photograph, and it will be in color. However I want the figure to remain in black and white.

This is for a project...do you know what program I'd have to use to achieve this and how I'd do it? Thanks!!
no, it's not a school project and I wasn't told how to do it...it's an independent thing.
 
you need a photo editor like adobe photo shop i think you can get a free trail on the web cite.

a project... school project? then you were told how to do it in class and your text book will tell you step by step how it is done...so will the photoshop manual that came with the program, so will the tutorials that are in the help section of the program itself.
