How can I sue a gym that for not freezing my account?

So I signed up at this gym in January. I paid my membership in FULL, $350 for 6 months, and part of what convinced me is the manager and the sales associate assured me MULTIPLE times that I could freeze my account if school became too much of a hassle meaning I couldn't make it to the gym. Well I went for about a month and a half, and school overwhelmed me.

I tried to call to freeze my account and they said I had to come in, in person. I was very busy so I didn't make it in till last month, but I arrived just after closing so I had to come back. I just went in today and the girl working the desk said they don't do freezes anymore. I told her I signed up under the pretense that I could freeze my account if I needed too, and she said she didn't have authority so she emailed somebody and told me to call in on Monday. I am pretty sure they are still going to give me a hard time and tell me I can't place a hold on my membership. I even asked for a copy of my contract and she said she wasn't sure if they keep copies, then changed it to she can't give me a copy.

When I come back I want to be prepared and tell them I will sue if I need to. But I have no idea what the first step is in trying to sue them! Any suggestions?
Sorry I forgot to add this. So WHEN I signed up they did do freezes but when I went in today they informed me they stopped doing freezes. Now I assume if they were to make a rule like that it would apply only to new members, I would assume I would still be able to hold.
