How can I stop pop up chat invitations when I open my yahoo mail ?

When I am viewing my email frequently, as of late, pop up stuff from people I don't even know appears with a request that I accept of join them in something. So annoying, how can I prevent them from accessing my yahoo email when I open it for viewing my account?

It may be impractical to delete one account and open a new one every time this spam creeps in. I have had this crop up recently on my account as well. Spam guards provided by Yahoo do not prevent this infiltration and they only block an address if you tag them individually. I have yet to receive two from the same person and I suspect they are coming from spambots, not actual people. Contact Yahoo and ask whether they have a solution.
