How can i start to persue photography as a career?

Ok so I'm only 15, but I like photography and would like to pursue it as a career someday. Anyway, can photography be a potential career? What could I do, if it made decent money I would like shooting weddings and events and stuff but im willing to explore other options. Since I'm only 15 I know I wont be making any money for awhile but what can I do now to prepare for later? I mean like practicing my photography. Oh yeah, I am decent at editing photos so yeah, what can I do know and what should I do later & you don't have to tell me that I wont be able to do photography full time starting out, I know that photography would have to be a side job.
 
Shoot for your schools year book and newspaper if they have one. Visit local photographers in your community and see if they will let you "intern" with them.

Later go to a good photography school and send another five or so years as an assistant to a working pro in the field of photography you enjoy.

While in school, join ASMP and NPPA as a student photographer and network like crazy.
 
Does your school offer a photography class? If not, choose a college that offers a photography program.
