Hi all

I consider my left side as my "good side" so favour that side when i sit or sleep as due to my back problem i carn't lie on my back or my right side.

Now i am having problems sleeping on that "good"side when i fall asleep on the sofa or go to bed.
I wake up with pains going through my shoulder and down my arm.
I turn onto my back but after a short while i get pins an needles in my arm and hand and chronic cramp in my calve and foot.

I wish i could sleep standing up like a horse! Ha Ha!

Have you tried sleeping in a recliner? --either on your side in the recliner or attempting it on your back (not fully flat like in bed/sofa)? Also, have you tried sleeping with wrist braces on your hand(s)? I sleep with them for my carpal tunnel b/c they help with my pins & needles, nurabness, and pain -might help you, too?? My only other suggestion would be a new kind of mattress, maybe tempurpedic, sleep nuraber, or a good mattress with pillowtop attached (memory foam pillowtop or other)? There are also some special recliners made that you could use as a bed, if you wanted to purchase a new one.
Good luck!

Maybe you could try one of those long body pillows. Put it behind you to prop you so you won't be on your back but not completely on your side, either.

Hi. I can only sleep on my right side. When my daughter was pregnant she was complaining about her back and hips. So the first thing out of my mouth was to do what I did when I was near the end of the pregnancies, which is to put a pillow or two between your knees. Shows you how my brain was functioning! I took my own advice, and sleep like that all the time. The body pillow is also a great tip! Feel better. Kathy
