How can I set my volume toggle on my Droid to go to silent/no vibrate notification?

Before the Froyo 2.2 update was pushed down to my Droid, I was able to decrease the ringer volume past vibrate to silent/no vibrate which would still cause my screen to light up to notify me of incoming calls, messages and reminders. Now when I decrease the volume using the toggle on the right side, the last setting is simply no ring/vibrate. How can I fix this?
