I am an artist currently painting in my apartment and the fumes from my oil paints and solvents are bothering me. The "smell" doesn't bother me, it is the chemicals in the air (VOCs) that are making me feel bad, especially tired, respiratory problems, and irritated eyes and nose. I am using a PlasmaWave + Hepa + Charcoal airfilter, Onions, Oscillating fans, Orchids, and essential citrus oils. It is too cold to keep the windows open. I also practice normal professional health precautions such as keeping lids on solvents, using oderless turpenoid and paints w/out lead/flake white, minimal use of solvents, wearing gloves and masks, etc. Does anyone have any extra or advanced professional suggestions as to how to rid my apartment, studio, and body of the harmful chemicals caused by the oil paints/solvents? I am concerned b/c at the moment I am living in the same space as where I paint (temporary arrangement - renovating studio) and when in my actual studio, I usually spend 8-12 hours straight painting. Thanks!
