How can I repair the cruise control on a 91 buick le sabre?

When I set it to cruise it will not set? What can I do or look at.

1 check fuse
2 go to repair shop...sorry but those things are beyond the average guy...part vacuum,,part electronic...part computer [sensors]..several relays and switches..
