we hav ea 2005 jeep liberty that makes noise like it threw a rod or a something. can you repair a broken rod from under the engine without taking of the top components???
I'm guessing you want an actual answer to your question here.The short simple answer is no you will eventually have to remove the head on whichever side its on you can get the offending piston out when you remove the oil pan,crankshaft,main bearings and the rod bearings.But in order to get the piston back in you will have to remove the head and have a ring compressor to get it back in
