I've had my Canon Digital Rebel for about 3 or 4 years now and never had any problems. Last week I was taking photos in low light and the shutter started taking a long time to click, despite that I had the shutter speed on 1/100.
Now all my pictures have a thick black stripe running along the bottom of the frame and goes about 2/3 of the way up the frame.
My first thought was that my kids were messing with the camera and adjusted the shutter speed, but increasing the shutter speed did not solve the problem. I checked the Rebel's User Guide and the Trouble Shooting section did not address this particular problem.
Any ideas on what could be wrong and how I go about fixing this?
p.s. I've also tried erasing the images from my CF card as well as formatting it, but this did not help either.
