How can I regulate my menstrual cycle without the use of birth control?

I have had an abnormal menstrual cycle for over 15 years; ever since I first got my menarche. The periods are unpredictable as to when they start and stop. Some times I only have 3 periods a year. Sometimes, I have 3 periods a week. Some days I bleed, some days I don't. Some days are heavy and some are light. Sometimes the blood is light pink in color, sometimes brown, sometimes red.

It's extremely difficult to have a comfortable sex life whenever my cycles are so unpredictable. It gets in the way of my normal daily activities. Starting without knowing has caused me humiliation throughout high school. At heavier times, I've missed out on important events because of the bleeding. My one purpose on Earth to me is to be a mother someday; to have children of my own to love and grow with. But with the way my cycles are, it's almost impossible to predict ovulation.

I have done all of the tests. Blood work, sonograms, pap smears, physical exams..the whole nine yards to figure out what is causing the irregularities. I'm not asking for a diagnosis, because as far as modern gynecological medicine is concerned, I have no known medical issue to blame. So don't tell me what you think I might have. Trust me, they have tested me for it all. Birth control pills do not work. Depo Provera shots do not work. Female contraceptives have NOT worked. I do NOT want to be on any sort of prescription contraceptive. (Especially ones that delay the ovulation/menstrual cycle like the Depo shot).

Can anyone out there please give me some information about effective ways to regulate my cycles WITHOUT using birth control?

P.S. - Do not tell me to lose weight, because I've already lost 85 lbs since August 2010 because of my gastric bypass surgery. And no, the weight loss has NOT done ANYTHING to help my periods. (And I'm at a healthy weight now).

Thank you :]
