I can't remember what disproved the coming Ice Age in the 70's.
I don't know, do a little research. Scientists once thought the earth was flat - that was disproved. Once scientist thought there were 1280 stars in the sky, that was disproved. Once scientist thought there were only 9 planets in our solar system, Once they believed humans evolved from tree dwelling apes.
So you see science is constantly being proven wrong and changed.
