I'm so sick of my 4 month old pug barking and whining when ever I step foot out of the yard. He never use to do this until we moved. I understand he's scared and doesn't want to be alone in a new place but that doesn't make me like it. He should know by now that i'm coming back. This morning I put him outside to go potty while I got ready and as soon as I opened the door he started barking at the screen door. I thought about shock collars but I don't want my dog to hate me or to develope bad behavior. I don't have the time or money to take him to obedience classes. So what can I do? Does anyone suggest shock collars and if so do they have side effects on the dog? What other ways can I make him stop? I've tried giving him treats before I leave, which seems to work but when I get home he whines and barks until I get in the fence and its just so annoying. Please help!!!
I understand that he's only four months old and is still a puppy. He needs to learn now though because if you wait tell they're adults they won't get it. If he learns now he won't do it as an adult.
