Two of my friends and I are presenting tomorrow on the New England colonies. The point of this presentation is to convince our classmates to join our colony. At this point, we have tons of information in our power point and review questions with candy rewards. However, we think it is slightly dull and not very creative. At first, we were going to dress in colonial dresses, however we only have one dress that ended up fitting and not being completely embarrassing. Any other ideas? We are in the eighth grade and it is US History. Thanks in advance

Maybe have a hat box with jobs in it. One could be the blacksmith, one the priest, one the tax collector, and on the witch. Maybe you could make a game out of how to kill the witch. Fun for all ages! And not at all suggestive of violence.

Can you just wear a bit of a costume such as a hat or jacket. No need for full outfits. Audience participation is also good fun. And try to make it funny. It would be good if you could find out some interesting but silly facts out about the New England colonies eg. How much bread they consumed, or a favourite pastime at that time. This is more real and people can relate to this more than the history part. They will also probably remember it more in the future.

you could make little paper models of people and pass them out to the students in your class. each model could have a little story that goes with it, such as a job, family, and little background on it.
