professional level.? I took a large amount of art electives in school up through the end of high school and was originally going to go to AI to become an animator but I've stopped drawing for 4-5 years now and I've lost a lot of my ability.
Now I'm considering getting back on track with that all and I'd like to specifically focus on character conceptual art for computer animations like what Pixar does (which is of course very general in terms of styles) but also Disney classic cartooning styles.
Are there places online or books that any of you have tried and trust to self-teach cartooning fundamentals and character conception from idea to finished product and also teach technique for a cartoonist?
Thanks for reading, any helpful advice or points in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
Also as a side note, I'm not looking for recommendations to go to school to learn it right now. It's is unfortunately not a viable option right now, and not because of monetary reasons.
Much thanks and appreciation to the arts community.
After thought: Obviously practice is a big issue and I will be working consistently to get back to the levels of drawing I used to have and beyond. Would it be better for me to start with simple cartooning styles and work my way up or is it more reasonable to practice the style I want to draw from the start?
Thanks again...
