How can I know if the timing belt in my Honda Accord 2004 LX-V6 has been changed?

I recently purchased the car and the mechanics have all agreed that it's in great shape, even more so for a car that shows 147,000+ miles on the odometer. However, I don't know if the timing belt was ever changed and that's a concern. The CARFAX report has no record of maintenance from 2005-2009.

Is it possible that it wasn't changed and the car still runs smoothly? Otherwise, how can I check if the belt was changed?

There is no way to tell, even if you took the engine apart to inspect the timing belt unless it was changed very, very, very recently. Yes, it's possible for the car to run okay without a timing belt change.

Can I take it that the mechanics are the same ones that are at the place where you purchased the car?

A 2004 car with 150k miles?!!! That's 30k miles a year!!! That's a LOT of driving. CARFAX is only as good as the data is reported. So, I don't put too much trust in their positive reports. No accident history means that CARFAX wasn't told of any accidents.
