How can i know for sure if a stereo will fit my car?

I want to buy a Sony - Xplod CDXGT240 for my 95 Mitsubishi mirage. I keep looking at all these different websites and some are telling me it will fit and some are telling me it won't fit. any suggestions?
 
go to crutchfield.com and put your car in under what fits. Then look at the size it tells you and the depth, then compare to the sony stereo. Works great for speakers too.
