how can I kill a conifer tree that is stopping the sun in my back garden?

My neighbour has moved out and their house is left M/t they have a row of conifers that grow at the bottom of their garden the one is over shadowing my garden and it's killing my bedding plants and shading my garden so I need to get rid of this conifer and quick any advice
