How can I keep this rented movie on my iPhone?

I rented John Tucker Must Die for an airplane ride tomorrow. I remember two years ago I rented Speed Racer & I heard this trick where you change the date or something so you can end up keeping the movie as long as you like. But I screwed it up last time. Have any of you heard of it? And I put it on my iPhone (haven't started watching it yet).
What do I have to do?
