I just bought the Huawei Mercury Cricket phone online. I thought I could change my original number to the new phone once I had it. I misunderstood their policy....U can only port an old number if U are coming from a different service provider. I dont want to return it and buy the phone in the store, because then I would lose the money I paid for the 1st month of service, and the $70 discount I get for purchasing it online. If I cancelled the new acct I could get the new phone with my original number but I'd still lose the $$ for the 1st month.
Does anyone know if I could keep my original number if I cancelled the old account 1st, then called customer service, or which would mean the number wouldnt be in use by any provider......
Or if U kno any other way I could keep the number without losing $$$ it would be greatly appreciated.
