How can I keep an unnatural hair colour to stay even?

I've dyed my hair a dark purple about a month and a half ago. When I first did it, I bleached my hair. My hair was dyed a burgundy colour at the time and my roots were growing in (my natural is dark brown) When I bleached it, the roots were orange and the rest was a light raspberry colour. I figured that since the dye was so dark it would cover that up with no problem. Which it did, but I think the different base colours caused a problem.

After about a week after dying it purple the first time, the roots are consistently lighter than the rest. The first time I dyed it, I used Special Effects Deep Purple. Beside the fact that it lasts a long time, it is the worst semi-permanent dye that I've ever used and don't want to use it again. I dyed over the roots twice, once with N'Rage Plum Purple and once with Punky Color Plum, but after a few washes the roots are noticeably a different colour again.

I wash my hair every 3 days and condition everyday with Pantene colour protecting shampoo and conditioner. I also use hair spray most days, but it's colour safe and UV protecting.

What can I do to keep it all an even colour?
Okay, my biggest pet peeve is when someone gives an answer without reading what I've put. Don't even bother if you're going to be an idiot like the first person.

Also, I do use colder water.
