How can I incorporate fire into my stone sculpture?

My current sculpture assignment is to create a sculpture that is 75% stone, personal, and incorporates fire. However, it cannot be actual fire. It needs to be something that represents fire or something along those lines.

I'm really out of ideas, so anything will help. Thanks!
 
Well, I would use fused or blown glass, but do you have the facilities to do that?
Hammered/forged metal in the shape of flames with or without yellow/red paint?
