How can I improve the lighting in my photography?

What are a few ways to improve the lighting in my photos? Since many of my pictures are of wild animals I am not sure how to go about doing this. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

When shooting animals, the lighting is how you find it. It is up to you to look for the best light falling on the subject animal.

Just look at the lighting before you shoot. Moving around a little can make a difference in the way the light falls on the animal.

Any manipulation using a photo program will look manipulated and fake. Shooting animals is all about the natural setting, so why mess with it later?
