how can i hook my vcr up to my pc to convert to dvd....?

how can i hook my vcr up to my pc to convert to dvd?;
i don't want to go and pay 20$s for this.. so im trying to do it for free
please help if can.
 
There is connectig devise which can be connected between vcr & Pcs ie one end of the device uses av input (red white & yellow wire) & other end is usb output...u hav to buy that
