I asked this question once before, but most of the answers I got were spam. Anyway, here's the situation.
I am a home schooled 12th grader, and I want to get a bacheIor's degree.
However, my parents are going to make me work soon.
l was supposed to start taking classes at a CC this semester (next week), but the only classes my parents Iet me take are these comp sci classes, which are related to the work they wiII make me do.
They are going to train me to do everything, and put fake experience on my resume. The reason they want me to work is just for me to pay off their debt; therefore, reducing our mortage payments.
Oh yeah, don't just say,"tell them how you feel". They don't care at all. My dad said to me today, "I'm not going to take any buIIsh*t from you. lf you argue with me on what I make you learn, l'm going to beat you up untiI you become straight."
I just want to run away from them and go to college on my own. ActuaIIy, I want to go to med school, and they require a bachelors degree for admission.
I am not sure how to go to college on my own though. I'm not eligible for any kind of financial aid, because my parents have over $700,000 in assets (mostIy reaI estate), and I can't get any student Ioans because I don't have any credit score or job.
Does anyone know if there are any kind of government programs which help home-schooIers?
I am going to take the SAT soon too. Is there any program which will give a student free coIIege tuition with just a high SAT score? I don't have any extracurriculars though.
