how can i go from kinky hair to nice defined curls?

i really need your help i used to have really nice curls when i was about 5 then my mom permed my hair and it was all down hill from their i am trying to go back to how my hair was and really need your help many people have told me i must cut my hair and go Natural but im only 14 and that isn't something im interesting in doing. my hair is 4c and kinkier than ever so please help me
 
I have very curly hair also and recommend you buy a 1 1/2" curling iron and curl small sections and then run your fingers through your hair. I do it everyday before work and my hair has never looked better. If the curls are too big then use a smaller curling iron. With my hair also, it's easier to wash at night and let it dry through the night then curl it in the morning. I'm not one for spending a lot of time on my hair and only wash it 2-3 times a week and it still looks good.
