I recently won first place in a state-wide contest for a poem I wrote, and that boosted my confidence enough to want to try to get a poem or two published in a book/magazine/newspaper. The only problem is, I have no idea how to do this.
Could someone please explain who I would send my work to, or if there's even a way for me to do this? I've heard of people in my school doing it, but I'm too scared to ask them how.
