how can i get that "just a little more" out of my arch for ballet?

i have heard about the resistance bands, and it has helped. i need to push it a little more though. i have semi high arches, and am working towards my pointe shoes but i need to get that little extra curvetture in the foot.

does ankle taping actually help in keeping your foot from sickle-ing? or is this an old dance wivestale?

and are there any tips on how to get my knees to "snap to" when getting into releve'/rise before my heels come up?
