How can I get rid of pesky bugs around lawn for outdoor event?

I am hosting an outdoor event is there anything I can do to eliminate or decrease the amount of bugs (mosquitos, gnats, etc) that are present. I need help quickly because the evnet is this weekend. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
 
This concoction worked for me in Michigan. You want to spray the entire boundary of the yard and any shrubs, trees, etc. in the center of the yard.

Here is the mix:
2 parts water
1/2 part lemon juice
1 part beer
1 part Epsom salt
 
Rent a device that attacts insects by letting out a stream of carbon dioxide and then kills them. They run on propane. You can also buy them at hardware stores. Ignore citronella in my opinion. It is hardly effective and it smells bad. Beware of any baiting such as beer, soda. It has the potential to attract as many pests as it draws away from the main area.
