How can i get pictures onto my sandisk sd card for my phone?

i have some great pictures in My Pictures that i want to copy onto my sandisk micro sd card that goes in my phone. Every time i try to move the pictures onto the micro sd card, it says "Cannot copy (name): The disk is write-protected. Remove the write-protection or use another disk."

I've checked the lock on the side of the adapter and it is not locked.
