How can I get photos from me phone to my computer?

Ok, well just in case the information helps any, I've got a Motorola phone, Sliver. My company is Verizon also.

I used to just send pictures to my email, but I don't have media sending anymore, so I have to use a USB which I do have. When I plug it in, it begins charging, and I hear a noise from my computer, so I know it's connected, but when I look to try and find the device so that I can get the pictures, it not anywhere to be found
Ya, I've checked under my computer.
 
have you already tried looking in the "my computer" area for the device?
