If you have some short stories that you'd like turned into a book, you'll need to find publishers who are interested in anthologies. These are books of short stories. It also depends on what genre you write in.
Get a copy of Writer's Market for the current year or 2009. They do have publishers who are looking for anthologies and literary agents who will represent your work if accepted.

Go to the right of the page and selected anthology markets. Make sure you follow their writer's guidelines perfectly. This is very important in getting your story accepted.
