How can i get my facebook wall to STOP POSTING my friend confirmations?

I looked all over the help page but what they suggested ("application settings'" under the account drop-down tab) DID NOT WORK-- i could not find application settings!

i need to know how to configure my wall so that the only information posted/shared there is WALL POSTS. I don't want my friend confirmation activity, my postings on other people's walls, or anything else posted on my wall.

Please help!
