How can I get more power out of a 2001 Dodge Ram Laramie 4x4 with a 318?

I would like to get more power out of my 2001 Dodge Ram Laramie 4x4 but it only has the 318. If I pull the 318 will a 360 drop right in without needing to change anything? Does anyone have any ideas that would be just as good if not better than swapping up to a 360?
I figured I should re word this a little bit. I should've asked if I there was anyway to get a significant upgrade in power for around the same cost as dropping in a 360? I know quite a bit about cars and it seems like dropping in a 360 could be the cheapest way and then just upgrade that. What about ripping out the whole wiring harness wiring in an msd ignition system and build a motor for it? Would an old 440 drop in without having to cut and chop up the K member and make new engine mounts?
 
um if u swap in the 360 the comp will need to b reprogrammed..... as well as some of the sensors.......or u can buy a hypertec chip for the vehicle and talk to them about the programming since they offer a lifetime free upgrade......

as for stuff to do to it u can put intake headers free flow exhaust....get a chip/programmer.......port and polish the heads ext.....all the standard upgrade stuff........


also if u swap the motor it will not pass a emissions check in some areas now because it will come up with a different vin when scanned......
