How can I get into the military with a criminal record and who do I talk to?

I have an extensive criminal background (no felonies) and I am ideally trying to join the marines. I know there are ways of getting around this but I dont know what they are or who to talk to. Ive already been turned down at a few places but if anyone has any information about this please let me know.
