how can i get him to overcome his nervouseness to have sex?

me and my bf were going to have sex but he cudnt get hard and was very devestated. i think it was because he was nervouse as this is my first time and he had to be carefull and all...now i am scared that it will never work because he will always be nervouse that he wont get hard....what can i do to help him get over this nervouseness so that we can have sex...?
its not his first time..he has experience.
 
Maybe he's guilty about something.
