How can I get a driver's appointment, everything's booked full!?

Due to a combination of my laziness and the approaching World Cup, all the traffic departments are booked full for the rest of the time that my learner's valid. Can't I maybe find a driving teacher who has some contacts and can get a place for me? I've heard of similar events, but have no idea how to start looking seeing as I've already phoned 'His and Hers', and the lady told me very rudely to phone the traffic department.
 
Most traffic departments have no longer that 3 months waiting period, try the departments in neighboring towns, some may be able to assist.
