I was in WalMart today and went to get some fish food. I saw this poor make betta with no tail or fins in one of those awful cups. Well opened the container and the smell of the water was rancid. Okay, not recommended thing to do but I grabbed a cup from their sink, put water from one of their tanks in it (couldn't find a worker as usual) and transferred him til I could get him home. Yes I paid for him
I have him in a five gallon til he gets better and he is swimming around but noticed he is blind. He bumps into the plants and sides of the tank, doesn't notice my hand right next to him unless I touch him and he doesn't notice the food I put in.
My questions are:
How can I get him to eat, do you think this was caused by the awful water and will it clear up?
