you cant hardly modify the engine with the on board computer monitoring everything.
Try looking into bolt on Supercharger kits like the Paxton or Vortec.

what engine do you have, that we need to know ,if its a 318 you have to do a lot of work to it to get that much power from it,if its a 360 there's less work involved and a lot less money, you have to gut it though to get that kind of power from it,and completely go through it adding new pistons with head work as well as intake and carburetor changes on it,i got a 99 ram though with a 360 in it and it runs around 370 horse power, but it was built when i got it,the gas mileage is really bad on it though but it will literally burn the tires off of it when its in 4 wheel drive, you can also watch the gas hand move on it when you do this, but its a fun toy to play with ,good luck.

You won't get any hp from the trans or rear end

And what you do may not be legal where you live...

assuming starting with a v8

You disassemble the engine, have the block surfaced .030
have the heads redone to spec..new springs and rockers to match new cam..
Blueprint the clearances, throughout the shortblock

replace the cam with one that has higher lift and longer duration...
replace the distributor with one designed for high performance
aluminum intake, and 600 cfm 4 barrel carb...
tube headers leading into 2-1/2 headpipes, low restriction mufflers and 2-1/4 tailpipes
cutting the block raises compression to 10-1/2 to 1 requires best premium gas you can buy....

This would produce between 350-450 hp depending on cam...

This would be legal in Missouri, because it's a 95, but wouldn't be on a 96 or later
in cali this wouldn't be legal period, you wouldn't make inspection...
