I have an 1989 Dodge Raider, till the other day the air was great, freezing. Now I put in a new can of R134A and when I started the car and put on the air I heard a distinct hissing sound a few minutes later my A/C felt hot like I had not put in any R134A. I was thinking of buying the UV Kit and finding the leak myself and fixing it. Where can I find a kit or something or a DIY guide to fix my A/C.

Any suggestions?
*EDIT*: I wanted to use this stuff the Oxy Guy sells on TV that seems to work on leaks on pipes so maybe it will work on an A/C leak. Do you think that mighty putty stuff may actually work? Video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=nkuReA-AGa8

A car is very hostile environment (too much vibration). That is why on home AC they use ALL metal pipes, but on cars they use half rubber hose and half metal pipes. So the puddy probably only work for a while (if at all) until the vibration shakes it loose.

Here's some video on AC repair.

Good Luck...

did you make sure that the system took r-134, and not r-12. you should be able to get what you need at any local parts store, they have kits with uv lights and everything needed to check the system yourself.
