How can I fix my Dell windows media player?

Had a different issue with the WMP at one time duplicating pictures every time I opened the program. Had my tech team look at it and now no pictures just physical description. PS3 will not pick up contents of files in WMP now but would before dell tech made whatever adjustments he made. Was also told that pictures was not suppose to be in WMP. Then why I ask do microsoft put files-music/pictures/video in the WMP files? Any suggestions on this would be appreciated. Thanks
