How can I fix my BlackBerry Curve?

Today, I went with a friend and had gone fishing. We were doing it on shore, but the sun was up, so he suggested we put our phones in his empty cooler. I did, and we went fishing. When we came back, I realized that the 'empty' cooler was actually a little damp and had some water inside of it. My phone was wet and so was his. His phone worked fine, but my phone would not work. I pressed all the buttons, and the screen would not go on. The phone WAS on though, LED light on it was flashing and my phone rung whenever I got a text. It must have been the water, but I don't know how to fix it. My friend said to put it in the oven at a really low temperature, but taking the battery out first. I haven't tried that out yet, but I might soon. I don't have a warranty on my phone, so I can't get a new one. What can I do to fix this? Any suggestions?
